Mister Minister of Science and Technology visited S-Cube!

It was a great honor to welcome in S-Cube office his Eminence the Minister Wuttipong Chaisang, Minister of Science and Technology.

We were delighted to present to Mister Minister and his team, the different S-Cube activities, first achievements and projects in progress.

In progress

Since a couple of months now we adopted the agile development method « SCRUM ». This method already used in big groups like Toyota, Adobe, Microsoft, etc. proved its efficiency. The philosophy of this method is the complete transparency of the development progress within the development team and in regard of the customers. SCRUM method at S-Cube is already conclusive bringing the first promising results.

We welcome for 2 months Ms. Maneerat, trainee researcher, from Avignon University for working on a new method to assess the difference of two products shape.

The second phase of the consulting mission for RPF has been approved by the National Agency of Research last June. This mission is composed of four steps; the first one should be achieved by the end of this summer.

We are in advance in the hiring process, since we are already 11.

Strategic Software Solutions 03/08

S-Cube Consulting: IT solutions, Engineering Design, Supply Chain Management, and Platform-based Products/Services

Based on ours expertise in IT solutions, engineering design, supply-chain management, and platform-based solutions we started our consulting activity.

The first missions were achieved successfully and brought interesting results.
Strategic Software Solutions is glad of these first collaborations with international customers and of their acknowledgement regarding S-Cube contribution.

Research Collaborations

A research project between Helsinki University of Technology, Rangsit University, and
S-Cube should start soon. The feasibility of this project and conditions are currently studied. One of the current S-Cube researchers should be directly involved in
this project.

Strategic Software Solutions founder also started a collaboration with two French Universities “École Centrale Paris” (Engineering School) and “Audencia” (Business School).

This two collaborations aim for S-Cube to maintain our high added-value offers and to be known at an international level.

Current Projects

Our office is now fully furnished and ready to welcome 6 more employees.

We should be 12 by the end of 2008 (compare to one a year earlier). Meanwhile, two new collaborators will join us shortly. The first person will manage the French software developments and the second person will directly manage and improve our
S4-Standards.

Our main project is converging well and we are on time with our initial schedule. We will present this project is detail when it will be finalized.

National Research Agency Visit

It was an honor to welcome the Thai national research agency (NSTDA-NECTEC) in
S-Cube office on September 21st. S-Cube’s team was delighted to present its activities, services, and its standards. This visit brought interesting exchanges and continued along through a current collaboration with NSTDA-NECTEC and Thammasat University.
This project targets an original CRM solution integrating engineering aspect.

S-CUBE and The First Regional Software Park Forum in the Asian and Oceanian Region, under the theme “The Innovation Extender”

We were pleased to be invited to present our activities at this forum gathering software park ambassadors from Asia and Oceania. S-Cube presented its current projects and its first results.

Projects

Research and development is the heart of our activity and we focused on both in this second quarter. We are currently developing our own algorithm for module-based identification, with promising results. An original Business Intelligent tool for engineering purpose is under specification. Moreover, several other projects have been discussed and we hope to finalize them at the beginning of 2008.

Our standards S4 Standards are now operational and used in day to day activities. Furthermore, we track every single evolution of our projects to implement our Kaizen improvement process. Meanwhile, we put lot of energy in final training such as SOA, XML, J2EE, and Design patterns.

Strategic Software Solutions 12/08/07

Two months of activity and Strategic Software Solutions has already settled and specified its development process into a standard. This standard is already based on Six Sigma method, best practice and S-Cube experts’ experience. A Kaizen process is currently implemented to continuously improve this standard.

Quality and ergonomics being the two major axes, members, who are not trained to software quality, will be trained (with a first training session on September 12th), same thing for the ergonomics. We will then fully adopt and apply best practice and standards in this mater.

S-Cube finalized its new website (before the initial deadline). As planed our website focuses on clarity, ergonomics, and concision, enabling readers to rapidly have an overall view of S-Cube offers and values.

In September the company will have the first core of its team with developers, optimization experts, and mathematicians/statisticians.

S-Cube is currently focusing on hiring talented collaborators. Our hiring process implies, two interviews (English and Thai), an English test, a psychological test, object-oriented fundamentals test, GUI test, and an “in condition” programming test.

Our new website is targeting to be online by August 24th and emphasizes clarity, concision, and ergonomics. Clients and public will then be able to register to “S-Cube Newsletter” published every month (see Newsletter First News for details).

The team is focusing right now on a research and applications Specification for Business Intelligence applied to Engineering.
